Talent knows no boundaries, but it often goes undiscovered and unrealized due to various barriers. At the Global Talent Lab, we aim to understand the role talented individuals play in innovation and frontier science, and identify ways to eliminate barriers that prevent them in realizing their full potential.
We are active in three areas:
Research: We are quantifying the role of talent in advancing the global knowledge frontier. This includes identifying barriers faced by high-potential individuals, such as gaps in educational opportunities, immigration challenges, research support, socioeconomic barriers.
Policy: We are developing policy tools for universities, philanthropists, and civil society to enhance support for talented individuals, innovation, and frontier science.
Community: We map and disseminate information about opportunities for global talent. Part of our role also includes supporting and linking institutions that work towards discovering and nurturing talent.
Global Talent Lab is a research center co-founded by Ruchir Agarwal and Patrick Gaule. It is housed at the University of Bristol School of Economics.
